MERCY WEDNESDAY DINNER

We believe that following Jesus happens best when we’re in community with others.

Mercy Wednesdays offers the opportunity to connect outside of a Sunday morning!
During the Fall and Spring, we have a free meal together followed by classes focused on connecting with others and growing in our faith. Childcare is offered for those participating in a class.
Would you like to volunteer as part of the host team for Wednesday nights?

Session 2

Wednesdays - November 6, 13, 20

Wednesday Night Youth
We are excited to offer both Middle and High School separate spaces to connect and spend time together on Wednesday nights. Our focus for this session will be on Prayer. How to pray for others, and the different ways we can listen and connect to God.
Practicing the Way
Join us for thematic discussion based on the book, Practicing the Way. Together we will explore what it practically looks like to build practices into our lives that resemble those of Jesus. These disciplines such as silence and solitude, fasting, and community can be helpful to growing in likeness to Him. Although these skills are not the end goal, they make room for the Holy Spirit to work in the same way that sailors put up sails and check all the rigging so they are ready when the wind blows. You don't have to read the book but it would be valuable to have a copy and come with background on it.

Weekly Watercolor with Jen Theisen
If you want to enjoy the benefits of watercolor painting, or anywhere in between, this class is for you!  God has designed creativity into each one of us.  Engaging in a creative practice connects us to our creator and helps ease the busy mind. This Wednesday night class series will provide a different prompt every week to get your creativity flowing and explore ways to connect with the community through generosity and mindful artmaking.  No prior art experience is required and supplies are included. Jen is an artist in the Mercy community and enjoys teaching in-person and online art classes to help people experience the joy of connecting to their creativity.  She enjoys combining her love of nature and watercolor by leading art hikes, painting with wild water from lakes rivers, and puddles, and always has a sketchbook and tiny paint kit along on her outdoor adventures.

Mercy Outreach Opportunities
This Mercy Wednesday Outreach Series explores the Vineyard value of serving the poor. Join us for one or all of these conversations and opportunities!

Week 1, Nov. 6 - Join Pastor Gary to learn about Mercy's commitment to this value in our city and in the world. Pastor Gary will highlight current and upcoming outreach opportunities to engage in this value with God's heart of mercy for the world.

Week 2, Nov. 13 - Join Pastor Louise and Bryan McLees, Convoy of Hope Network Relations Director, as we learn about Mercy's newest outreach partner and our collaborative work in serving the needs of the world. Also get a sneak peek into Mercy's participation in their One Day to Feed the World event this Spring!

Week 3, Nov. 20 - Join Mercy Outreach Team Member Mary Kornman and Pastor Chris Bellanger, Executive Director of Unite Twin Cities as they provide insights and practical guidance for how to engage in our unsheltered community. After the session, participants will create care packages to distribute, while also learning to engage unsheltered individuals with dignity, respect, and conversation. By combining education, biblical principles, and practical outreach, we, the church, can not only uplift the lives of unsheltered people but also foster a more compassionate and connected city.
