@MW: Healing with the Holy Spirit & IFS

Wednesday, October 27 // 6:30pm // Mercy

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a highly effective therapy model that aims to heal the root pain behind many common mental health problems (ie, anxiety and depression). Many spiritual leaders have also realized it is much more than that. It is seen as a deep form of prayer that can calm the often chaotic thoughts and feelings we carry, making room for us to meet and be healed by the Holy Spirit. Led by Corey Busch, a practicing IFS therapist and Mercy member, this class is for anyone who has struggled with mental health as well as for anyone interested in deepening their connection with God through a new prayer process. You will learn the basic ideas behind IFS, and you will have the opportunity to experience the IFS process in a safe, professionally facilitated space. Masks are required.

Wednesdays | October 27 – November 17 | 6:30-8pm | Mercy

@MW: Intro to Drums

Wednesday, October 27 // 6:30pm // Mercy

Have you ever wanted to play the drums? Do you currently know how to play the drums and just haven’t played in a while? Want a space to flex those drum chops? Intro to Drums is a class designed by Mercy Board Member and drummer Edward Jefferson to give space for learning some drum basics, but also how to frame those basics around playing drums with other musicians. We will focus on a worship band setting. By the end of the class, the goal is to have learned to play a very basic drum beat that is used in most of the songs you hear. Also, how to think about the intertwining of faith, worship, and drums. Class is limited to 5 participants. Age 13+.
