Christmas Community Response Evenings

Sunday, November 24 // 4:00pm // Mercy Vineyard Church

On Sunday 11/24, 12/1 and 12/8 from 4-6pm, everyone is invited to join us at Mercy to respond to the angel’s invitations shared during the morning’s message. You can attend all 3 or just one. Please let us know you’re coming so we can plan supplies. Childcare is not provided, but kids are welcome.

11/24: Do Not Be Afraid: What happens when we can approach fear with the disarming power of the Holy Spirit? Explore how art can be a tool used to engage with fear and vulnerability. Practice letting go of the “perfect.”  We’ll provide art supplies and refreshments.

12/1: Good News: Can you think of anyone in your life who would love a handwritten note containing some good news? Set aside two hours to intentionally communicate with friends, family, neighbors, or loved ones. We’ll provide the snacks, space, supplies (even stamps!), and a few ideas. We need you to bring your creativity and capacity to love and encourage others with good news this season. Come on your own or bring the whole family.

12/8 Great Joy: Spread the joy of Good News this holiday season with a community outreach of presence. Grab your Growth Group, family, or friends and join us for an hour of caroling at an area nursing home. Meet at Mercy at 4pm for a brief orientation. All ages are welcome.

Foster the Love MN Holiday Bag Drive

Sunday, December 1

From Dec 1-22, Mercy is hosting a Holiday Bag Drive for Foster the Love Minnesota.

Foster the Love MN supports and serves the foster care system of Minnesota. The main way they do this is through providing placement bags for children in foster care. When children are removed from their homes, it’s often quickly and there is little time to grab belongings. Each bag is filled with practical items and items that let the children know they’re not forgotten.

Fill a backpack with the items listed on the sheet and drop it off in the box in the cafe. Instructions can be found //HERE//

A Compelling Story | A Special Christmas Service

Sunday, December 15

In Luke 2, an angel offers this invitation to a group of shepherds: “Don’t be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” This invitation – if we allow it – also compels each of us to bring our own experiences and expectations to the person of Christ. We are invited to turn from fear, find hope in good news, experience great joy, and invite others into Jesus’s story alongside us.

This year, Christmas at Mercy is about collaboration, it’s about dialogue, it’s about the way that we bring our own contexts to this story, and what this story does to us.

A Compelling Story / A Special Christmas Service / Sunday, December 15th / 9am & 11am
