About the COVID Care Fund:

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect us all as individuals and as a community in different ways, we acknowledge that some of us are impacted with more severeity than others. As followers of Jesus, we are called to respond with generosity and love to those around us.

And over the past several weeks, the community within Mercy Vineyard has responded to this call! Thanks to dozens of gifts from our members and attenders, and to a generous matching donation that was exceeded at the end of 2020, we are excited to relaunch our COVID Care fund – opening to new applications for assistance beginning on January 10th, 2021.

The COVID Care Fund is one way we can tangibly bless and support those within the Mercy community who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. If that describes you – whether it be as a result of job loss or reduced hours and income, or through COVID illness yourself or in your family that has led to unforeseen increases in your bills or medical debt, we would love to be able to bless you with pastoral care and financial relief to help bridge the gap during this pandemic.

How to Request Funds:

For yourself:
For those among us that have been negatively impacted financially as a result of COVID-19, this fund is meant to provide a blessing of both pastoral and financial support from the church community. Consider applying for a gift. We encourage you to ask and receive this gift as a blessing from the Lord knowing that He sees you.

On behalf of others:
You may also apply for pastoral and financial assistance on behalf of another member of our Mercy community if you become aware of a need. We only ask that you receive permission from the person(s) you wish to nominate so they can accept the gift and provide additional information if needed in order to approve.

Once an application is approved, a member of the COVID care team (called a “Pastoral Advocate”) will be reaching out to you (or the person you’ve nominated) to begin the process of meeting the financial and pastoral needs as requested.

Yes! If you have an abundance and are looking for ways to take care of others in our community, we encourage you to open up your storehouses (as in the example of Joseph in Genesis 41). Joseph stored up a surplus for the upcoming drought and then released his grain to those in need during the drought.
